That’s one of the many reasons I love living in New Hampshire… you can own a large tract of land, have gorgeous views of mountains, lakes and rivers, witness really cool wildlife in your yard, but then go to work and make a decent living.
Economically, the granite state ranks close to the top in many categories: **
- It has the lowest tax burden in the USA (no income or sales tax);
the second lowest crime rate in the country;
has the highest standard of living;
and ranks 10th in highest levels of (per capita) in personal income.
We are not just a bunch of "hicks" either…. We rank 9th overall for highest percentages of college educated citizens.
** based on PSNH 2008 Economic Review
So if you are looking for a change of scenery and are tired of fighting the increasing traffic, taxes, and crime, consider New Hampshire. Our real estate prices (both residentially and commercially) are pretty reasonable too (especially when compared to the Boston area).
Whether working with buyers, sellers, tenants or landlords, most people are looking to achieve a good work/life balance. In my job as a commercial realtor, I have the opportunity to meet new companies moving into the state, as well as people looking to start their own businesses. Most people choose to relocate here for that balance.
Hopefully someone who reads this blog will consider moving their company to this great northern New England state. If so, I’d be happy to talk further, whether it’s about the economics, or just the improvement in quality of life by moving to the granite state.
Thank you for your time.
